I need a new home!

Mayo Cat Rescue was founded on 1st April 1998. It is a non-profit voluntary
organisation which rescues and rehomes unwanted, abandoned, sick, stray and cruelly
treated kittens and cats in Co Mayo.

Please contact us:

* if you feel a kitten or cat is abandoned or needs to be rescued.
* if you wish to offer a rescued cat or kitten a good home.
* if you have lost or found a kitten or cat.
* if you feel a kitten or cat is being neglected or badly treated.
* if you wish to avail of the feral cat catching traps.

We rely completely on the public's generosity to carry out our work.

At any given time, Mayo Cat Rescue can be feeding 15 to 20 rescued cats. The cost of
this can be huge as most of you will appreciate. One way of helping us to meet this
cost is by donating catfood. Tins of Whiskas, KiteKat, Katkins and Choosey as well as
boxes or bags of Whiskas, Go-Cat, Brekkies and Omega all go down a treat with the
cats!

We are also very grateful to receive Dunnes Stores Value Club Card vouchers which we
use to pay for the catfood every week.

What goes in must come out so we are also happy to receive bags of cat litter! Cat
carriers are something we never seem to have enough of either.

Our newsletter produced every Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter is sent to
hundreds of people and the cost of postage for this is huge. So if you would like to
donate 30p stamps, we would be very grateful. If you would like to receive a copy of
our newletter every quarter, please send 4 medium sized self addressed stamped
envelopes to the address below.

Most of all we need money to pay our Vets bills which are huge.

The Mayo Cat Rescue Bank Account No is 19917184 (sort code 93 70 88), Allied Irish
Bank, Main Street, Castlebar, Co Mayo, Ireland. We would be very grateful if you
would instruct your Bank to set up a Standing Order for whatever you can afford every
month using the above Banking details.

Or send a cheque, bank draft, postal order or money order in Irish pounds made
payable to Mayo Cat Rescue to the following address: 19, St Marys Crescent,
Westport, Co Mayo, Ireland.

We also desperately need Volunteers to help us with our workload.

Can you spare a half hour before Mass to help with our Church Gate Collection in your
area? Can you spare a couple of hours to help with our Street Collection in your town?
Can you organise a fundraising event for us in your home (coffee morning, perhaps),
school (read-a-thon, sponsored silence, sponsored skip, etc) or in your locality? Can
you sell a few items at a Car Boot sale for us? Have your any fundraising ideas that we
might be interested in hearing about? Can you pick up a stray or injured cat or kitten in
your area and deliver it to us? Can you offer a foster or permanent home to a rescued
cat? Can you donate anything that might be of help to us?

What can you do today to help the animals? Do something. Donate something - your
time, your energy, your ideas.

Thank you so much for your help.

Together we can make the world a purrfect place for cats!

Look at that happy contented face! You
can almost hear the purring! NELSON is
the most gorgeous black and white adult
male cat. He is so friendly and
affectionate. All he wants to do is cuddle
up to you and purr. Nelson obviously
belonged to someone somewhere at
some time in the past. Whatever
happened, when he was brought to
Mayo Cat Rescue, his tail was injured
and so badly infected, it had to be
removed. Nevertheless, Nelson has
taken this in his stride and even without a
tail, is still a handsome cat. He is
neutered and litter trained and would be
a lovely cat for anyone to have around.
